Baby Fox

A fox kit (baby fox) by itself likely needs your help. Until they are juveniles, they’ll usually stay close to their mother. And, if you have found one, chances are there are several in total, so take a thorough look around before deciding there is only one. Please call us as soon as you have determined that a fox kit is alone. During your phone call, in the event that we advise assisting the animal, we will likely recommend that you lure him or her into a cat carrier, or if the kit is small enough you can put some gloves on and toss a towel over him or her and gently put the animal into a crate. Do not offer the animal food until you’ve gotten advice from us over the phone! Keep the kit away from pets and children for everyone’s safety.

Injured Adult Fox

Call Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary immediately if you find an injured adult fox. Do not attempt to capture the animal until you talk to a member of RWS. If immediate action is needed, wear thick gloves, throw a towel or blanket over the animal, and scoop it into a box or crate.
