Squirrels often arrive at the sanctuary because they have fallen out of the nest or are in danger of starvation. In either case (or if you see any squirrel who seems to need help), call the sanctuary to discuss the situation. During your phone call to the Sanctuary, in the event that we advise assisting the animal, we will probably recommend that you take the baby animal inside and place in a box with soft, clean cloths and keep warm, either with a heating pad or a warm water bottle. Keeping the animal away from all pets and children is important! In the event that the squirrel’s nest is nearby, we may attempt to return the animal to the nest.
